A Joyful New Year!

lll

Happiness is dependant on circumstances. Joy, however, can be experienced regardless of what happens around us. A wish is a desire, an uncertain hope believing something good may happen. A prayer of faith, however, is an unwavering expectation. It is being certain that goodness and personal peace is attainable in spite of the circumstances.

Therefore, I do not “wish” you a “happy” New Year but rather, I PRAY to God that you experience a Joyful New Year even in the midst of turmoil, uncertainty, and pain. As unpleasant and non-cheerful as this may sound, the fact is that these challenges will be part of 2019 as they were in 2018 and every year before that. Jesus, the Author of life himself, warned us that while we are in this world we WILL experience trials, trials that will either break us or shape us.

So, my prayer for you is that you depend on and trust God (not unguaranteed wishes) to experience true peace, true hope, true faith, and true love. These things are guaranteed only to those who believe and live in Christ Jesus. My prayer also includes that you surrender fully to His lordship, for He is the only One who has promised to be with you and see you through every circumstance. He has also promised to give you inexpressible joy and experience life to its fullest no matter what you face, not only this year but in your lifetime.

📖 “…Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

📖 “…For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 1:20

📖 “And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:20

📖 “You love him [Jesus] even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.” – 1 Peter 1:8

📖 “…I [Jesus] have come that they may have life and have it abundantly.” – John 10:10
